A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
Welcome one and all to my digital home! My name is Josh Crocker, the brains (and occasionally brawn) behind Taking Fun Seriously.
As a renaissance man of sorts, I like to have fun in a variety of ways, facets, and areas of life. I’m big on learning, communication, and (obviously) fun.
TFS (I love abbreviations, and apparently the copious use of perentheses) was created with the idea of being a few things, such as:
- A community of like-minded folks who want to learn, lead, and goof off. Maybe not always in that order, but we at least know how to have a good time and get things done.
- A sort of “yellow pages” for online resources. I want to be a connector and help us (me and the readers like you) find what we’re looking for. Helping people is fun, and it’s a big part of this site/group.
- My digital representation of my physical self. This is a tough one to master, and it’s something I’m still continuing to learn. Maybe I’ll learn how to do that better as we journey along.
Thanks to some well-timed books I’ve read in the past few years, I’ve been able to have some incredible opportunities, both personally and professionally. If you’re doing what you love, I think there’s really a very blurred line between what is deemed “personal” and “professional”, so you’ll usually read about both on here.
Anyways, I’d just like to welcome you once again, and if you want to get in touch, shoot me a line and we can chat!

Sounds like an amazing year ahead – let me know how the train trip goes! If I can help in any way, just let me know!
